Abstract

Background: Menstruation is a natural process in the productive age range of 1-16 years and will end when entering menopause at around 51 years of age. Stress is one of the many variables that affect a person's menstrual cycle. Medical students are one of the groups with quite high levels of stress. Therefore, researchers conducted this research to determine the relationship between stress levels and the menstrual cycle in female medical student cadets.

Methods: This study sought to ascertain how stress levels and the menstrual cycle of medical student cadets Indonesia Defense University related to one another. This research is analytical observational research with cross sectional design using sample of medical student cadets Indonesia Defense University.

Results: The results obtained were that most respondents had moderate stress (66.3%) but still have normal menstrual cycles (77.2%) and the p value using the chi square test was 0.008.

Conclusion: There was a relationship between the level of stress and the menstrual cycle in medical student cadets Indonesia Defense University.
